We had the opportunity through our Dallas Arboretum membership to go to the Dallas Zoo early - which was fantastic because it was H-O-T!
Harper and the Harpy Eagle
Turtle Time
Monkeying around...
Feeding the birdies
Getting "eaten" by an alligator
Giraffes
Getting close with kitty
It was great, but as you can tell by the kids' red cheeks, it was a typical Texas summer day. Their favorite thing was to feed the birds - they couldn't get enough of it!

Harper Turns 3!
Since we went to Sea World (a post to come soon!), we had a small family get-together for Harper's birthday. I can't believe my little bit is already 3. While she is petite in stature, she is BIG on personality! She always likes to try and keep up with what the "big kids" are doing, but loves mermaids and the show Team Umizoomi.
Gotta have an Umizoomi cake (BEFORE Harper snuck a big bite out of the side!!)
Harper with Uncle John's gift...Dr. Pepper and Butterfinger! (Love the punch 'stache)
Personalized Umizoomi shoes
Harper being silly with her handmade crown
Proud parents with the Bopper

First Day of School
I cannot believe how fast the summer flew by, and I really cannot believe that I have a 1st grader and Kindergartener!
The kiddos on their walk to school. I just love their
backpacks and lunch totes.
Ava is so lucky to have Dylan’s teacher from last year, Mrs.
Perkins. I adore her!
Ava is also lucky to have two friends already in class with
her. Brooke lives a few houses down from us and they also cheer together.
She did such a great job on her first day of school, little
miss independent just led the way to her class and didn’t look back.
Dylan got his very own locker in Mrs. Tucker’s class which he
thought was pretty cool. He also has several friends that were in his
kindergarten class, so that definitely made for an easy transition to first
grade.
I love hearing about their day at school! I’m sure starting
next week they will both be bringing home work, so we will see how much they
still love it then LOL!
