Let's Go Mavs!

We took the kids to their first Dallas Mavericks game on Tuesday. I knew Dylan would have so much fun and be totally focused on the game, but Ava Grace on the other hand...well, I was a little worried about Miss Thing! Because it was a night game and she would be up past her bedtime, mixed with her always active personality, I pictured her either in meltdown mode or running up and down the stairs being my wild child. She pleasantly surprised Michael and I, standing the entire game clapping with everyone and dancing to the music!

Dylan kept saying “that’s amazing” and “Let’s Go Mavs”, being the little sports junky that he is. We munched on nachos and hot dogs, and then our friends shared their popcorn with them. Dylan has had popcorn before and loves it, this was Ava’s first time. And let me tell you, I had to remind her to stop and take a breather she was shoveling it in so fast! A guy sitting in front of us decided to have a little food fight with Dylan, so they were throwing popcorn at one another. After it had gone on long enough (and it had escalated into hands full being thrown instead of a piece at a time), I told Dylan he might get in trouble if he does it again. About 10 minutes later when they wouldn’t stop throwing popcorn at each other, a couple of ushers came up to the guy and asked him to clean up the popcorn-giving him a broom! Dylan was wondering if he got in trouble too. You can’t blame a 3 year old who was just follow an adult’s lead, right?

We decided to leave at the beginning of the fourth quarter to make sure we avoided any meltdowns. The entire walk to the car, Dylan had a super-sized grin saying “That was amazing”...I’m pretty sure he had a lot of fun!
